american history has made a huge impact and influence in understanding cultural unity and diversity.it has done this through the teaching of past events such as the holocaust in wich the jews were discriminated against.history shows us that this and other racial events can lead to conflicts such as warfare.on september eleventh,the world trade center was attacked by taliban terrorists and we retaliated with warfare.due to this event,manny naive americans now discriminate against anyone from afghanastan or the middle east by reffering to them as ``terrorist``as a part of thier culture or saying that its ``thier`` fault for our ongoing conflict of warfare.as you can see,american history`s influence can better or worsen the ideas and veiws of cultural unity and diversity.

There are many global events that influence the quality and quantity of cultural unity and diversity in American society. Some events are positive and have a positive effect and others may have a negative effect on cultural unity and diversity in America. A positive would be a woman or a person that was a race other than white running for a political role in the community or country. A negative impact on the influence of the quality or quantity of cultural unity and diversity would be a terrorist attack or a war for instance.
A woman or a person of a different race running for a political role in America would have a positive influence on the quality and quantity of cultural unity and diversity because it shows that it doesnt matter what your sex is or what the color of your skin is you can still accomplish something and make a difference. Also something like that happening really helps Americans in society to grow and become better people.
Negatives that go on in the world such as attacks and wars have a negative effect on the quality and quantity of cultural unity and diversity in American society because when some one attacks us or any other country we automatically dislike people of that ethnic group. For example on September 11th Iraq made an attack on the Twin Towers and that caused an up roar and led to a huge war that is still going on today. After these attacks Americans started to discriminate against anyone who they believed looked like a "terrorist" to them and with this the quality of cultural unity declined with that ethnic group.
Another example of a negative impact on the quality and quantity of cultural unity was the Attacks on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese people. That attack also caused a war however, out of rage and fear Americans forced Japanese-American families into camps. These actions definitely caused a major set back in the unity and diversity of different ethnic and cultural groups in American society.

The relationship between social conformity, cultural unity, and cultural diversity is based on the type of people surrounding eachother and feeling as one. Social conformity is the result of a process by which people's beliefs or behaviors are influenced by others within a group in the formation. It is the feeling people get when they want to be a part of something where they feel equal and welcomed. Cultural unity is the coming together of a variety of cultures. Not everyone has to be the same to be a part of something. Cultual diversity is the cultural differences that exist between people, such as language, dress and traditions. It is the way societies organize themselves and the way they interact with the environment. Each three play a major role in societies all around the world.

Social conformity is the process of people getting an idea of how they want to live their live on how others live. It may have some positives and negatives depending on what people decide on. Cultural unity comes along with not everyone having to be the same to belong to a society or a group. It unites everyone no matter what their cultural differences may be which is where cultural diversity comes in. Not everyone is the same, that's a fact. There will always be differences between people and even the same culture which makes social conformity exist in societies.
New Bedford is a perfect example of the three. There are several types of cultures and religions and races and everyone lives together. Even though everyone may not get along, they are still together as one in New Bedford. Sure, people form their own little social conformities of the same cultures to separate them from everyone else. But, different cultures coming together at festivals and parties show that the people of New Bedford understand the cultural diversities and do not have a problem with it.
Social conformity, cultural unity and cultural diversity are what makes up a society. I believe they are what allows everyone to separate differences and just get along. Without social conformity, everyone would be going all over the place, without cultural unity everyone would be against eachother, and without cultural diversity everyone would be the same.

They also are all greatly impacted by cultural similarieties and differences. The unity you find in a city such as New bedford shows these three in action. The living of people of different cultures all wokring together a whole.

Cultural diversity and cultural unity definitely promote change and influence culture in American society. The diversity in America I think makes people open-minded about different cultures and can change peoples thoughts on certain topics. People of different cultures can learn from each other, and grow to be understanding of peoples cultural beliefs.

I think people in the American society can be very accepting of different cultures and religions. Cultural diversity can change peoples outlook on a lot of different things. I also think cultural unity lets people with the same cultural beliefs come together, understand each other, and show empathy for each other.

10. Global events can have a negative and positive influence on the quality and quantity of cultural unity and diversity. For instance, when Barrack Obama runs for President of the United States, he gains respect from many different groups of people. Perhaps this will change the way that people look at black people, or any other minority. People like Obama have a great influence on the cultural unity and diversity of American Society.

One of the most influential events that effected cultural unity of the American Society in a negative way is the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Centers. After these attacks people began to stereotype certain groups of people according to their looks. Any one who looked like they were from the middle east would immediately be looked upon as a terrorist.

Well the unity between the social conformity an cultural unity and cultural diversity is that they each play a role in out society like in new bedford alot of people try to do anything to fit in like i really dont know anyone who will dress up ugly and out of style becuz of the hearsh judgment of peers no one wants to be the odd ball soo im sure we do anything cultural unity works in because sometimes your own family and freinds like do a certain something or dress a certain way etc. and u want to fit in.The role of diversity in cultures also play a role because some people might not get along because of juss not liking the way they are or juss they dont relate to the same things these three things play a role in soiety one way or another in result of human interactions it juss varies.

Cultural unity and diversity has a tremendous impact on our identity and our name. The reasons are because our status and our country is made up of different individuals who themselves or their ancestors have immigrated from other lands where they were not happy and they shifted here with the intention of making a satisfactory living for themselves and for their families. so these people that have come here have come from all corners of the world, from all countries and lands, in search a better future. So this creates the diversity in this nation because they all arent the same, they are different groups with different backgrounds and ideas but they all stand together and united for the same sacred cause, success. and this diversity and unity represents us and therefore america is known as the land of opportunity, the land of all people, the land of immigration.

1.) Cultural unity and cultural diversity are defined, understood and measured in everyday American life. Cultural unity is when people and ideas from different cultures are brought together. Cultural diversity is the differences between people's cultures. Cultural unity is shown in America in many ways. Since America is so diverse, people learn other people's way of living each and every day. Some people even take those parts of other people's cultures and use them. Americans eat many different kinds of foods, like mexican, italian, and even chinese. Those are all different food brought together for cultural unity. People are also learning different languages other than their main speaking language. Classes are offered in school for students to bring together cultures.

The cultural differences are usually very plain and not difficult to point out. Differences in cultures include their languages, the way they dress, and even the food they eat. It's the way the different people of America, and the world, organize themselves. The way people involved in different cultures react to the environment is also an example of cultural diversity. In America people can go along living with these differences and not feel uncomfortable about it.

i feel as though cultural unity is defined through schools like newbedford high were you could go any day and see african americans, puerto ricans, portugess, white yellow black all gettin along with each other hangin out talkin. its noty like groups of just certain types cause i feel that we understand from all the knowledge we have of slaves and immagrants that they went through alot to get to were they are and the no less then uss or better. im sure in some states theres still cases of racism or stereotype but its something that those people being racist are gunna have to learn that no matter what there no better then anyone else if anythin they degrade trhem selfs through those actions.

The segregation law , between blacks & whites as affected the U.S. and still does today. Some people still act ignorant and dont realize that color doesnt matter. I am a black young lady and hope that a white young lady doesnt think different of me. The way people were treated before sometimes makes them scared now , no one wants to be treated anyway less then they think they should. People are still separated but to others this has taught them a lesson, and most have changed their ways. While theirs others who still have the horrible mentality of being nothing but ignorant. In one big group our world is some what together as a whole.

Throughout the history of the United States, the face of America has changed many times. First were the Native Americans who have been on this continent for centuries and even then cultural diversity was present through the individuality of each separate tribe. Next, were the countries of Europe, each also establishing their own individual culture. As time went on people of all different ethnicities and religions settled here and eventually we became the biggest melting pot of all of these various cultures.
However regardless of whether or not things were going on well in America itself there always seemed to be those outside forces [i.e. other countries, people etc.] trying to change America. We have had countless wars of either the U.S. trying to influence another culture unfairly or other countries trying to do the same thing to us. I think that all of these conflicts have only brought us closer together as a nation and allowed us to collaborate and mix cultural traits and accept diversity better.

They all have many simular traits as well as differences. Providence and even New Bedford have all 3 or these traits throughout their cities. They are very diverse cities. Any type of city like these will allow you to find people of different cultures, beliefs, races, and sexual preference working together in unisence.

From what i have learned, there are many similariteis between the relationship of social conformity, cultural unity and cultural diversity. Social Conformity is otherwise known as action or behavior in correspondence with socially accepted standards, conventions, rules, or laws: conformity to university regulations. some examles or social conformity are either listenign adn doing as your peers may say or do, doing what is seen in the media, beign afraid of doing thigns your way, so taking the safe way out, etc.
examples of Cultural Unity reside here simply in the new Bedford High School hallways. all throughout the school you will see different cliques and ghroups of people, weither teens or teachers. In many, if not most of these cliques you will notice that its basically students of the same culture. For example, the Puerto Ricans may hang out with mostly Puerto Ricans. They may do this because they have there similarities and inside jokes, or simply because they feel they may understand each other more because they are of the same culture.
Cultural Diversity is also all around the school. You will most likely see diversity in this day and age around our area then unity. simply because people, especially children and teens, seem to have no problem getting along with or being around people of different cultures. We know that the culture doesnt exactly make the person who they are. Everyone has the chance to get along or be friends or companions with any one they feel comfortable being around. Where the other person is from shouldnt matter. smile

10. Global events influence the qualtiy and quantity of cultural unity and diversity in American society. The attacks on America on September 11th were one of the biggest influences on cultural diversity because it brought people together from all cultures and religions. America came together as one no matter what color, size or shape the person was. That's what makes America great, our diversity but also the ablilty to join those diversities and help one cause. We learned to fight together against anyone who tries to break our ties together as the greatest country in the world.
The presidential elections are the next decision that will make or break our country. We need a new system to balance the bad one we've had for the past 4 years.

Cultural unity and diversity is defined in everyday american life everywhere you look. At highschool, in the cafeteria, you always see a table of many differrent races sitting together. There is diversity and unity in such places like at work or on a sports team no matter where you go your going to see it. Many people do things in a way like it was from another person culture which is an example of diversity.
