                 5.                 You are a young parent.  In your journal, predict what factors will influence your childs ethnic and cultural identity. [identity]. My child would feel like an outsider and because of that he will stay with ethnic group and he wont learn other cultures because they didnt accept him only his own did. He will be influence only by his cultural identity because of that he will hate other cultures outside of his.      6.You are Black Elk.  In interviews with your grandson, explain what it means to be Lakota and live in American society. [identity]. Being Lakota means being strong because our people went back hundreds of years and we still have our people rituals and living in America would help us keep our true identity and being in America will help us meet people how have the same values that we have. Americas society accept people how are different because America is hungry for they things and new people. The only thing that I want you to know is that, dont let America change you, you change America.

9.You are a young Hispanic girl.  In an invitation to your friends, explain the importance of your Quinceañera ceremony. [identity] If i was an girl and I was at my quinceanera cermony is that I will tell them the history of the quinceanera. That it is an  celebration of her fifteenth birthday, which is commemorated in a different way from her other birthdays. That quinceanera is an refers to the female celebrant,it also means turning into a women , but in practice it has become synonymous with the celebration as well. The quinceanera is for the young woman, usually wears a pink or white dress at the festival.

10. You are Maxine Hong Kingston.  In a response to a book critic, describe your experience on being Asian and a woman. [identity]. I was able to describe about her book is that being an asian and making an book because she was  in one of the four reading passages included in the Reading Comprehension section of the test. While the passage dealt with her innovative methods using "talk stories", the portion that was excerpted and modified was considered to be one of the far more difficult passages of the section. As a result, Kingston's name, as well as mention of "talk stories", has become synonymous with bitter references to the October test among a significant number of 2008-2009 law school applicants.

5. Many factors will influence my child's ethnic and cultural identity.  Such factors are the difference in school and at home.  At home he will be himself with his culture, but at school it will be different considering he will be around different cultures.  Also, clothes, food, and accents could come into place.

9.  My Quinceñera is very important.  It's my cultures celebreation of me turning into a woman.  Not only is it fun for everyone, it's very important in my culture for every young girl turning 15 to have my Quinceñera.

Dear Journal,

she is growing up quickly and she will have to go to school soon. i am nervus that she will want to loose the way we do things here at home for example if she wants to put or language asside. It will be good for her to learn about other cultures like for example the Dupre's french home looks friendly and im sure she will like the way they do things there they are simular to our home. The teacher might also want to put in some of her ways of doing things also and give them an experience  of elarning how they do in China. i am sure she still carries some of the traditions of teaching. i hope she just has thecourage to reject the unfavorable things that might come her way. but i might just be being silly, after all she is just entering 1st grade. i just know her, she is familiar with the way we do things. i jsut hope the culture shock deosn't confuse her too much. i know when i started school it wasn't all that easy at first. Our values are strong and so im sure everything will be fine like her father said. until next time

8.     You are Maya Angelou.  Explain in an editorial what you meant by, There is no agony like bearing an untold story in you. [identity]

"There is no agony like bearing an untild story in you." there is no true suffering like being told that it is alright to be who you are but not beign able to share it. to go to bed every night and have everyone tell you that they care for you and then to think while you lie there that they dont even know who you are.  There is no true pain like having to find yourself and then having to disguise it. it becomes emotionally difficult to conseal it when that is the one thing you want them to understand but the thought that they wont might just be worse than keeping your secret. The thought that they might deny you if they find ut who you are is just and manically depressing as when they express their desire to help you and their effection for you and them not even know what they are saying. To know that is a lie is true agony. To be fully aware every waking hour and every sleepless night that they are lying to themselves and to you becasue of your secret is what i imagine to be unbarrable. this is true suffering. this is a true nightmare, except that the dawn to awaken the darkness from inside those hollow shadows holding the one thing that wants to live as badle as you do never comes.

" We have to stand together and help out our community. we have to show the people that we care. We have to show compassion for the criminals and for the family that was affected by the incident.

5.     You are a young parent.  In your journal, predict what factors will influence your childs ethnic and cultural identity. [identity]
It would be pople complaining about her cultural identity. It would be about her background and religion. School will influence my child, work, life itself will.
